Whats New Limited is major Wellington based property development company responsible
for a number of high profile public and heritage developments, they also have significant
portfolios of inner city residential and retail property. As marketing manager I have had
sole responsibility for PR, brand management and the marketing and promotion of the
developments, products and services of WNL and a range of subsidiary companies
My role
As marketing manager I have held a holistic and integrated management role pivotal to
the direction of the companies activities. I have been responsible for the development of
marketing objectives in line with the companys strategic plan and consequent
marketing plan development and implementation to raise the profile of the company in
target markets and influencers in the market to support these objectives. The
identification and evaluation of market opportunities and resulting product/service
conception and development have become major focuses in my role of ensuring the company

Classic Yacht Charters (CYC)
Position: Marketing Coordinator
Employment period: November February, 1996-1998
Classic yacht charters is a Christchurch based yacht charter company, chartering luxury
yachts around New Zealand and the south pacific. I was employed as marketing manager by
CYC for the duration of the yacht charter seasons.
My role
This was a new role and initially a large proportion of my time was taken up in
working with other areas of the business to establish a charter program to suit corporate
target markets I had defined in the market research phase. Once established my focus
turned to promotional campaign development and implementation. Consistent new market
exploration and development of new services and concepts to cater for markets outside of
the traditional yacht charter season became more important as the business expanded.

consultants. I was employed by their New Zealand office to develop and implement a
promotional strategy for a new CD-Rom home based financial planning product
"Planit".
